Jaipur Arrival - Jaipur Local Food Sightseeing - Jaipur Departure
This meticulously planned, all-inclusive food walk in Jaipur is more than just your average culinary tour; it explores Jaipur's real neighborhood's heart. Savour the best of both traditional and contemporary street food items from stores and street vendors that have been supplying the community with food for years while hiding away from the tourist masses. Eat like a local. Keep your camera memory and stomach empty so that the mouthwatering food can fill them.
Kachori Pyaaz
At the renowned Raj Mandir Theatre, where we first sampled Pyaaz Kachori, one of Jaipur's culinary treasures, we began our culinary journey. Our taste buds were left aching for more after enjoying these crispy, spicy deep-fried bites with an irresistible sweet chutney.
Lassi
To stay cool during our gastronomic explorations, we fell into the temptation of a refreshing Lassi. We decided to go to Lassiwala, which has been around since 1944. The flavour of the Lassi brought back memories of the traditional Lassi, and its cool, creamy texture was a pleasant respite from the oppressive heat.
Moong Thal
Barfi, a lentil dessert cooked and served in a big thal (large round dish), is the city's specialty. The rich flavour of the dish, which is served inside the historic city, melts in your mouth. Made with the purest Ghee, it has a delicious flavour. Most of our guests love the way it melts on their tongues.
Mirchi Vada
At Ram Namkeen Bhandar, we embarked on a singular culinary journey and enjoyed Mirchi Vada with Kadhi. The introduction of Kadhi gives this 1970 composition a zesty edge that sets it apart. Its delectable blend of heat and sour makes it unlike other street cuisine. The crispy exterior and delectable interior of the Mirchi Vada left us speechless.
Dal Baati Churma
The next meal to tempt your taste buds with traditional Rajasthani cuisine is Dal Baati Churma, which is the state dish of Rajasthan. comprises three essential components: Ghee, or clarified butter, gives the food a wonderful taste. Dal, Baati (baked, typically packed balls of wheat), and Choorma (a dessert made of grain crumbs) are the three main ingredients. Once more, the components used determine the colour and variation of churma and baati.
Laal Maas
The princely realm's much-loved non-vegetarian dish, laal maas, served as the model for royal cuisine. This meal is cooked using mutton and garnished with red chilies for visual appeal and a crimson colour. It's really easy to prepare this tasty dish at home, which is served in almost every nook and corner of the city.
Ghevar
This traditional Jaipur dessert, a disk-shaped cake cooked with maida (refined flour) and drenched in sugar syrup, comes in a variety of forms. It's a seasonal dish that's usually prepared throughout the month of festivals, specifically for Teej and Rakshabandhan, two of the city's most popular festivities. Serving ghevar variants with cream and ghee is best done on top of fruits.
Kulfi
How can we forget our favourite ice cream, Matka Kulfi? For an unparalleled richer, creamier flavour, head to the well-known Pandit Kulfi store, which is about 60 years old and situated near Hawa Mahal. A simple mixture of sugar, saffron, pistachios, and thickened evaporated milk was used to make kulfi. The mixture was then put within metal cones and dipped in slurry ice. Remember to try some of the delectable street cuisine on our city tour.
