We then proceed to Humayun’s Tomb, which is the predecessor of the famous Taj Mahal in Agra. Built in 1570, this mausoleum houses the body of the mighty Mughal emperor Humayun, who played a key role in establishing Mughal rule in India. Qutub Minar is the tallest brick minaret in the world and an incredible display of Mughal architecture in India. It was constructed as a memorial to the Delhi Sultanate’s conquest of India. This five-storey structure attracts thousands of tourists every year. India Gate is another monument worth visiting. This massive structure was built by the British as a war memorial in memory of the Indian and British soldiers who died fighting for the British armed forces during World War I. Lotus Temple or Bahai Temple is a prime example of world unity. Shaped like a lotus flower, this temple is open to all religions and gives the message of unity of all religions. Rajghat is a memorial dedicated to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Built between 1631 and 1653 and spread over 42 acres of land, this white marble monument is a symbol of love. Shah Jahan built this classical structure in the loving memory of his most beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. You will get the opportunity to enjoy the sunrise view of the Taj when the golden rays of the sun are falling on this exquisite structure and enchanting it with its warmth. The two kilometer long wall of the Agra Fort is adorned with beautiful curves and military bastions. The Agra Fort also includes the Musamman Burj, from where Shah Jahan used to look at his favorite building, the Taj Mahal, during his last days. Over 8 years, about 4000 workers worked day and night to rebuild the fort as per the instructions of Akbar. The rest of the evening is at your leisure. One of the largest stone gateways in the world, the Buland Darwaza stands tall as the main entrance to Fatehpur Sikri. Built by Emperor Akbar as a symbol of victory over Gujarat, the gate is a beautiful blend of Indian, Persian and Mughal architecture.

Built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, the five-storey Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds was constructed with the sole purpose of allowing Rajput women to watch the royal procession without exposing their identity.
